On Sunday, December 12, 2021, the Central Florida Chapter will be holding the chapter’s holiday party at Wekiva Island to ring in the Christmas season. Join other chapter members, family, friends for a day of natural Florida fun and an evening holiday activities including a catered dinner. Admission to the park and party is $40 for adults, $15 for children (ages 4-17), FREE for children ages 3 and under , and, for Chapter members, a discounted rate as a membership benefit for them, their spouse and children. 8AM: Park opens
9AM-7PM: Snow Flurries
Noon-4:30PM: Guest Check-In
Noon-5PM: Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus
4PM-5PM: Wekiva River Sleigh Rides
4:30PM-6:30PM: Private catered dinner
7:00PM: Movie in the Christmas Tree Forest
Wekiva Island is a little over 20 minutes from downtown Orlando on the southeastern side of Wekiva Springs State Park. Below is a map showing its location. If you would like to set your GPS to get there, the address for Wekiva Island is 1014 Miami Springs Drive, Longwood, FL 32779.
Each guest will be a little different on what their needs are, but here are a few suggestions on what you may want to bring.
- Tailgate chairs
- Blanket
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
- Volleyball, frisbee, etc.
- Change of clothes (if planning on taking advantage of the water or for pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus)
Keep an eye on the forecast for the day to make sure you and your family dress appropriately for not just the day, but also the evening.
