Shelby Quick grew up in Lake Mary, Florida and is now a senior at The Pennsylvania State University. She will be completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2018—completing a rigorous four-year program in only three years since her enrollment in the fall of 2015. Academically, Shelby has maintained a competitive GPA, is an active member in Eta Kappa Nu, the national honor society for electrical engineering and computer science students, and assists in teaching effective public speaking to introductory engineering students. Outside of the classroom she has continued the passion for dance she has had from a young age, performing with her club dance team at various sporting events and showcases on campus. Shelby spent this past summer at an internship out west with Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation and the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, engineering to support our nation’s Navy. She hopes to continue serving her country through her career after graduation, and wants to work towards ending the gender gap in electrical and computer engineering fields.
